Richardson FLS-16: A Mack with a Warren 16-Foot Body
Richardson’s FLS-16 brings together a Mack truck, a Warren frameless 16-foot body, and an AC-2400 Ice Control Spreader. This project combines the dump-body installation with rear spreading equipment and trailer-related components. In addition, a Buyers underbody toolbox adds storage below the bed.
The Richardson FLS-16 equipment package includes:
- A Warren frameless 16-foot body.
- An AC-2400 spreader with a 7-inch conveyor-type variable-pitch auger.
- A 24-inch Buyers underbody toolbox.
- A 12V electric brake controller.
- A custom Warren 1-inch pintle plate paired with a 50-ton hitch.
Together, these selections cover the body, spreader, storage, and trailer equipment in one upfit. The black Warren body and orange spreader also give the completed truck a distinctive appearance.
AC-2400 Ice Control Spreader at the Rear
The AC-2400 is the central spreading component of this build. Its specified feed equipment is a 7-inch conveyor-type variable-pitch auger. Meanwhile, the orange hopper sits within the body, with the spreader assembly extending beyond the rear.
The rear view shows the hopper, hydraulic lines, and spreader assembly between the two Warren-logo mudflaps. In addition, the side views show how the spreader fits alongside the body and cab protector.
For customers considering a 16-foot Warren dump body with an AC-2400 spreader, this project provides a useful configuration to discuss. Start with the intended body length and spreader model when reviewing a similar installation.
Underbody Storage and 12V Brake Control
A 24-inch Buyers underbody toolbox provides a dedicated storage location beneath the Warren body. Its position uses space below the bed, while keeping the toolbox separate from the body interior. The side detail also shows the Buyers badge and the toolbox latch.
Meanwhile, the equipment package includes a 12V electric brake controller. This controller belongs to the trailer-related portion of the upfit, alongside the pintle plate and hitch.
When planning a truck installation, include these accessories in the equipment discussion early. For example, toolbox location and trailer-control requirements deserve attention alongside the body and spreader selection.
Custom Pintle Plate and the Complete Upfit
At the rear, this project pairs a custom Warren 1-inch pintle plate with a 50-ton hitch. That combination completes the specified towing hardware for the Richardson build. In addition, the 12V controller brings another trailer-related component into the equipment package.
The result is a Mack upfit with a clear equipment list: a 16-foot Warren body, rear spreader, underbody storage, and custom hitch hardware. Each item has a defined place in the installation.
