This project rolled out of our shop ready to work in every season. Our team took an International chassis and transformed it into a versatile custom dump truck built to haul, spread, and tow without missing a beat. Because the customer needed one rig to cover multiple jobs, we engineered a build that pairs heavy hauling muscle with full spreader capability and serious towing hardware.
A Versatile Build for Year-Round Work
First, we focused on flexibility. The customer wanted a truck that hauls aggregate in the warm months and spreads material when the weather turns. As a result, this spreader-ready dump truck build handles both roles with a single chassis. Moreover, the clean, well-organized layout keeps every system easy to service.

Full-Width Cab Shield and In-Cab Spreader Controls
Next, we added a full-width cab shield to protect the cab and operator from shifting material. In addition, we wired in spreader controls with an in-cab controller, so the driver adjusts spread rates without leaving the seat. Consequently, the operator stays safer, warmer, and far more productive on every route.

Warren 3/4″ Pintle Plate with 20-Ton Hitch
Furthermore, towing power anchors this build. We plumbed the quick-connect fittings through our heavy-duty Warren 3/4″ pintle plate, then mounted a rugged 20-ton pintle hitch plate assembly with D-ring tie-downs. Therefore the customer can tow trailers and run spreader attachments from the same reinforced rear platform.
