This red Kenworth—call it the “Red Barn”—rolled out of our shop ready to haul its own muscle to the jobsite. Our team fitted the chassis with a rugged Warren stationary platform flatbed, then added a Buyers toolbox and a rear-mounted forklift kit. Because the customer needed to deliver material and unload it without a second machine on site, we built a Kenworth flatbed with truck-mounted forklift capability from the ground up.
A Warren 24.5′ Stationary Platform Flatbed
First, we focused on deck space and strength. The 24.5-foot platform gives the crew a long, flat work surface for lumber, pipe, pallets, and equipment. Moreover, the stationary design keeps the load low and stable, so the truck hauls heavy freight securely down the highway.
- Warren 24.5′ platform body for maximum usable deck length
- Tall headboard with a mesh window to protect the cab and improve rear visibility
- Full-length rub rails and reflective marking for safe, legal loads
Buyers 36″ Toolbox with T-Handles
Next, we mounted a Buyers 36″ underbody toolbox with weather-sealed T-handle latches. As a result, the operator keeps chains, binders, and hand tools locked, dry, and within easy reach. In addition, the frame-side placement clears the deck so nothing eats into precious cargo space.
- Buyers 36″ steel toolbox for secure, weatherproof storage
- T-handle latches that stay tight over rough roads
- Frame-mounted placement that preserves full deck capacity
Konik Universal Forklift Mount
Furthermore, self-unloading anchors this build. We installed a Konik universal forklift mount at the rear, so the crew carries a truck-mounted forklift right along with the load. Therefore the driver drops the forklift, unloads the deck, and reloads the machine—no second truck, no waiting on site equipment.
- Konik universal mount rated to carry a piggyback forklift
- Rear-mount design for fast pickup and drop-off at any site
- One rig that both delivers material and unloads itself
Built and Backed by Warren Truck and Trailer
Finally, our crew finished the unit to fleet-ready standards before delivery. Although the spec paired several systems on one chassis, we delivered a dependable stationary platform flatbed truck on time. Ultimately, this Kenworth shows how Warren Truck and Trailer engineers equipment that works as hard as the people who run it. Ready to spec your own build? Contact our team and let’s get started.
